I can't express in words how much I cherish the opportunity to create Delicious Healing Culinary staples for my community. Sasquatch Botanicals was born out of my 20+year culinary career and chronic illness journey that left me in excruciating chronic pain and a diagnosis of Chronic Lyme and Hashimotos Disease. The grueling hard work of being in the culinary industry finally took its toll and I had to focus on what was most important: My Health. In 2014, I made the difficult decision to sell my food trucks and solely focus on my healing journey. I moved to Vermont and enrolled in Chinese Medicine School followed by Western Herbalism School.
Food was always a passion for me that I felt in my soul I needed to share with the world and as I plunged myself deep into healing, I found that food could heal. It was throughout this journey, that I discovered the power of herbs, spices, and plants which ended up being an important catalyst in my healing. As I dove into my studies of these herbs, spices, and plants I was able to reverse my Hashimotos Disease and finally discovered what it was like to live pain-free from my Lyme Disease. In 9 short months, I had regained my life and vitality! My ancestor's plant wisdom guided them along their journeys through food & medicine. After asking my Osage, Sami & Celtic ancestors to guide me, I knew the time had come for me to share these offering with my community and theirs. To help others like you and me know there are pathways to healing. I create our blends and wild harvest on the native lands of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River in Oregon along with the Chimacum, Lower Elwha Klallam, Jamestown Klallam, Port Gamble S'Klallam, Quileute, and Quinault tribes of the Olympic Peninsula. Our school and retreat center is on traditional Twana & Chemakum land and in honor of this knowledge 10% of profits are given back to tribal projects. We will be focusing our support on the Longhouse Project (www.thetamanowasfoundation.org) for 2023 & 2024. Did you know it was illegal to build longhouses from 1910 until 2019?
